First Bus announces services set to return to Bradford Interchange in 2025
First Bus has announced that some 70 per cent of its bus services will return to using Bradford Interchange when the station reopens on 5 January 2025.
A total of 11 services will continue to use stops on Nelson Street and Hall Ings.
Ongoing resurfacing works mean six stands at the Interchange are not available, and therefore some bus services have to remain on-street until further notice.
John Roxburgh, Head of Operations for First Bus in West Yorkshire, said: “The team at our Bradford depot have done an amazing job this year, collaborating with Network colleagues to re-organise services and help ensure we could continue to deliver for customers during a challenging period.
“We have also continued to work closely with West Yorkshire Combined Authority and local partners to support changes over many months as improvements to the road infrastructure were completed. Planning for the reopening of the Interchange has been just the same and we are delighted that most of our services are able to return in the new year.”
Timetables for the majority of services using to the station will remain unchanged and full details can be found by visiting https://www.firstbus.co.uk/west-yorkshire/news-and-service-updates/service-updates/bradford-interchange-reopening
From 5 January, no services will use the Hall Ings/Drake Street loop as it will be closed to buses. Services operating from Well Street or Leeds Road will instead access the Interchange via Vicar Lane and Bridge Street.
Buses that have moved from Vicar Lane will continue to stop there as part of their route to ensure access to the Broadway shopping centre. No other city centre bus stops should be affected.
