First Bus has announced that due to industrial action in Leeds from Sunday 18 June it will operate a limited service on its LeedsCity services until further notice. Park and Ride will also be affected and the FlexiBus service will not operate.

Full details can be found on a dedicated page of its website https://www.firstbus.co.uk/leeds/news-and-service-updates/service-updates/industrial-action, which will be updated regularly, and customers are advised to follow its Twitter account @FirstWestYorks for the latest information.

The following school services will operate as normal:

CH24, CH25, CH26, CH27, CH28, CM3, L74, L75, L78, L79, LW1, LW2, OA2, OA3, and OA4.

The following services are not affected by the industrial action:

X6, X11, 72 Bradford-Leeds and the 508 Halifax-Leeds.

Tom Bridge, Operations Director for North & West Yorkshire said: “Our team is doing all we can to keep our customers moving, but there will inevitably be severe disruption and inconvenience. We apologise in advance to all our customers and appreciate their patience when travelling with us over the coming days.”

For all buses operating on the limited services there will be a flat fare of £1 for any journey. This must be paid in cash on the bus or using contactless payment as it will not be available on the App. The Tap on Tap off card readers will not be in use.

All normal fares will apply if travelling on bus services not affected by the industrial action.

Customers with First Bus pre-paid tickets from Sunday 18 June onwards will be able to use these on Arriva and Connexions services operating in Leeds.

Tickets purchased on a strike day will not be refunded and customers are advised to check if a service is operating. Customers with pre-bought tickets for strike dates will be given a refund. The details of this will be announced when the industrial action has ended.
