First West Yorkshire ticketing systems ready for introduction of fares cap
First West Yorkshire has confirmed that its ticketing systems have been adjusted to process capped single and day fares agreed with the mayor and Combined Authority which will be introduced this weekend (Sunday 4 September).
Single fares will be a maximum £2 and Return tickets £4. First’s exclusive evening Single fare of £1.40 for any journey after 7:00pm will continue to be available.
The First Day ticket has been renamed a DaySaver priced at £4.50 and is available to buy on the bus or the First Bus app. It is valid across all West Yorkshire bus operators, which means First will accept other operator Day tickets on its buses. Current cross-boundary journeys that go beyond West Yorkshire will continue to be possible using the First DaySaver.
The capped £2 Single and £4.50 DaySaver are also applied to First’s Tap On, Tap off contactless technology with further discounts on the number of days travelled within a week.

The new price caps have been introduced through the Enhanced Partnership between the Combined Authority, the mayor and all bus operators across the region.
